Resolved Question: Can I be a cop and a Marine at the same time?

Hi, well I'm 24 years old and this year in the summer I would be attending a Police Academy in Fullerton CA. This is an academy that you pay your way in ($4500) which I have saved up, after completing the academy I could apply to different police agency's. Al-tough, I always want it to go to the Military and is a dream I still want to fulfill, I was wondering if after I'm done with the Police Academy I could go into the Marine Reserves. How would the Marine Reserves work? Also,would the Police Dept allow to me to do this? I am still undecided in which I should do either Marines or National Guard but I want a Reserve Unit since I'm already going to be a police officer. Would the Marine/NG boot-camp will be a bit easier for me since I'm going to be fresh from the Police Academy? What are my chances of being an officer/sargeant if I'm done with the Police Academy and have an AA in Criminal Justice? Thanks guys.... Read More »
